Rouhani pays tribute to World War II victims

TEHRAN, Mar. 28 (MNA) – As part of his two-day visit to Russia, Iranian President Rouhani paid tribute to victims of the Second World War in Moscow.

On Thursday, Hassan Rouhani attended the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier memorial in Moscow to commemorate victims of World War II, the global war that lasted from 1939 to 1945.

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a war memorial, dedicated to the Soviet soldiers killed during World War II. It is located at the Kremlin Wall in the Alexander Garden in Moscow.

The commemoration ceremony was held after President Rouhani received an honorary doctorate degree from Moscow State University (MSU).

The Iranian President is slated to meet and talk with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

Rouhani’s visit to Russia will wrap up after a meeting with Iranians residing in Moscow.
