On the sidelines of K Trade Fair 2016, the world's premier fair for the plastics and rubber industry in Germany, Managing Director of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Marzieh Shah-Daei and Director general of the Association of Petrochemical Industry Corporations (APIC) Ahmad Mahdavi held talks with top officials of Haldor Topsoe over investment, knowledge and technology transfer and the supply of Iran’s petrochemical projects with licenses.
On the basis of the negotiations, the Danish firm has expressed readiness to participate in new projects for production of urea, ammonia and methanol in Iran’s petchem industry.
In addition to Haldor Topsoe, Iran has also conducted talks with several European companies over partnership and investment in Iranian industries as a German firm has expressed willingness to take part in PVC projects of Iran.
Prior to the sanctions, Haldor Topsoe of Denmark was one of the most active companies in the Iranian petrochemical industry to the extent the Danish company had a contract worth 500 million euros to construct a methanol production unit on the second phase of Asaluyeh.
Moreover, Jorgen Nergaard Gol, Group Vice President of Chemicals at Haldor Topsoe, had called for collaborations in areas of research, technology and catalyst supply following the removal of sanctions.
The new venues of cooperation between Iran’s NPC and the Danish firm include transfer of technology for the production of new petrochemical products, construction of catalyst plants, mutual cooperation in the construction of methanol units with new technologies as well as construction of urea and ammonia units.
