Iran, Pakistan to hold cross-border trade meeting

TEHRAN, Aug. 17 (MNA) – Head of Industry, Mines and Trade Office of Sistan and Baluchestan province said on Sunday that the third session of Iran-Pakistan Joint Committee for Border Trade will be held on August 19-20.

Nader Mirshekar said that negotiations on border trade have already been held by provincial officials of Iran and Pakistan in two sessions in Zahedan and Quetta respectively.

In the third session, the two sides will discuss development of border trade between the two neighboring countries and will follow up the implementation of previous agreements in Zahedan, the capital city of the southeastern province, Mirshekar said.

Meanwhile, he said that during their stay in Iran, the Pakistani delegation will have separate meetings with local officials of Sistan and Baluchestan province and merchants and industrialists of the province.

Mirshekar said that the meeting is expected to culminate with putting signature on a draft agreement on border trade.
