Iran, Switzerland discuss economic cooperation

TEHRAN, Apr. 27 (MNA) –Iranian foreign ministry's European Affairs Director General hold a meeting with a Swiss economic delegation.

The session was dedicated to discuss Iran-Switzerland economic ties and its development after the Lausanne statement and possible agreement between Iran and 5+1.

The economic delegation, comprising Swiss tradesmen, businessmen, figures from banking and industrial fields, and members from Swiss Business Federation, is headed by Switzerland's former ambassador to Iran Livia Leu Agosti who serves as the head of bilateral ties at the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (Seco) at the moment.

The delegation will hold meetings with different Iranian officials during their 4-day visit to discuss the possible ways of reinforcing trade and economic ties with Tehran.

Switzerland has eased part of its economic sanctions against Iran at the start of 2014, in accordance with the Geneva nuclear accords between Tehran and the six states.

Trade between the two countries amounted to $670 million last year.
