Hassan Rouhani is expected to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the sidelines of the summit. He will also travel to Kazakhstan by the invitation from the president Nazarbayev for a meeting with his counterpart in the country.
He will head a delegation to Dushanbe, where the Meeting is scheduled to be hosted. Tajikistan is the president of the Organization since September 2013, and will hold the 14th meeting under the motto of ‘cooperation, social development, co-prosperity.’
Shanghai Cooperation Organization was established for the first time in 2001 by China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Iran, India, Mongolia, Afghanistan, and Pakistan have the observer status in the Organization.
