DVOR/DME installation in Yasuj airport

YASUJ, Dec. 19 (MNA) – The director of Yasuj Airport has said DVOR/DME antenna is being installed in the airport.

Mehr News correspondent reported from Yasuj that Seyed Fakhraddin Hashemi told reporters on Wednesday that the critical navigation system would start operation in the airport. “The DVOR/DME navigation system has been installed with a cost of US $ 680,000. So far, the project to install metal construct of the system has been completed,” he said.

“The foundation, counterpoise, enclosed area, and electricity installations have been completed and in the second phase, the central system will be installed,” he added.

The Airport director also told that 80 per cent of the project had been completed with budget coming from provincial budget and country’s Airports Company resources.

“The system helps increase the pilot confidence when landing in inclement weather conditions and enhance flight safety,” he added, and that “the system would increase the number of flights per day and thus help attract passengers and create jobs.”

“The antenna system has been installed by the experts from Communications and Navigation office of Airports Company and Yasuj Airport Electronic unit,” he said.
