According to the officials in the Ministry of Industries and Mines, unfortunately, aluminum industry in our country is experiencing a relatively sluggish growth and despite the production from major aluminum plants such as Almahdi Aluminum Plant in Bandar Abbas, we are still way behind other countries in the sector.
However, the report also noted, with the 110,000 tons of aluminum produced by Almahdi and the 120,000 tons provided by Arak Aluminum Plant, production of the metal is expected to hit the all times record of 230,000 tons in the future.
While the current world demand for aluminum is growing by an annual eight percent growth rate, China’s call for the commodity has increased by 14 percent per annum, the report stated.
At present, about 29 million tons of aluminum is annually produced in the world, the figure is indicating a six percent increase during the recent years.
