Addressing a number of Iranian industrialists in Dezful, Khuzestan Province, the ambassador asked Iranian officials to pay special attention to western Africa which offers a potential market for Iranian products.
“However, the two sides are not well familiar with the potentialities of each others’ markets which might be assessed through the exchange of economic delegations in future.”
Ivory Coast is located on the west of Africa with 17 million population in an area of 322 thousand square kilometers.
In his turn, Dezful governor welcomed the investment of the businessmen of that country and announced that an agriculture delegation would be planned to travel to Ivory Coast in near future.
Khuzestan Province has rich resources of minerals and metals. It has a strategic location in the vicinity of open seas with numerous harbors.
Ivory Coast is to purchase various road construction machinery from Iran and export cocoa to the country since Ivory Coast produces 40 percent of the world cocoa.
Iran had previously constructed the first water treatment plant in that country some 30 years ago.
Ivory Coast's ambassador leads a delegation that is on a three-day visit to Khuzestan Province to explore untapped grounds to help further expand economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
