TEHRAN, Nov. 16 (MNA) -- The Iranian feature film "Bitter Dream" directed by Mohsen Amiryosefi will compete in the Thessaloniki International Film Festival in Greece and France's Nantes International Film Festival, it was announced on Tuesday.

Amiryosefi said his film will be screened in the competition section of the 45th Thessaloniki International Film Festival, which is to be held from November 19 to 28, and will also compete in the Nantes International Film Festival in France, which is one of the world’s most important film events.

 

The film tells the story of Esfandiar, who has been unconcernedly preparing corpses for the journey to their final resting place for forty years. One day, while preparing a burial service, he is taken ill, reminding him of his mortality.

 

“Bitter Dream” was previously screened at the Hamburg International Film Festival (Germany, September 23-30), the Chicago Film Festival (U.S., Oct. 7-21), the Flanders Film Festival (Belgium, Oct. 8-16), and the Valladolid Film Festival (Spain, Oct.22-30)
