In an interview with the Mehr News Agency Javid Husain, referring to the recent attack on Pakistani Shias said that the blast killed several prayers during the congregation on July 4.
He said that Pakistani political leaders such as President Pervez Musharraf and Zafar-allah Khan-Jamali the Pakistani prime minister condemning this terrorist action, declared that the culprits will be arrested and punished in the near future.
"The disaster turns out that more serious efforts should be made to manage terrorism and extremist groups in Pakistan,” he further added.
Pakistani diplomat said that the activities of terrorist organizations have been recently banned in Pakistan. Such anti-terrorist measures taken by Pakistani government reduced terrorist activities and factional involvements, and improved the political climate in the country.
On Iran-Pakistan relations, Javid Husain describing it close and brotherly said that due to the historical relations and shared religion the two countries can live peacefully alongside each other.
Referring to the two countries relations with Afghanistan he said, Iran and Pakistan have the same policy on Afghanistan, adding that the two sides are doing their best to help in its reconstruction while attracting the international community's support in this respect as well.
He reiterated that Tehran and Islamabad are seeking to establish peace, security, and stability in Afghanistan.
With regard to border conflicts between Pakistan and Afghanistan, he said that Pakistani soldiers launched an operation to cleanse the region off Taliban and Al-Qaeda members, which unfortunately led to conflicts between the military forces of the two countries.
Pointing to the responsibility of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) on Afghanistan-Pakistan issue, he said that the issue has been placed on OIC agenda and certain resolutions have been passed to call for the Islamic countries' collaboration on reconstructing Afghanistan and establishing peace and political stability in that country.
On Kashmir issue the Pakistani diplomat said that OIC has also placed the Kashmir issue on its agenda, and it passes several resolutions annually in this respect, in support of Kashmiris' right to determine their own fate and some other resolutions demanding India to respect human rights.
Expressing concern over the indifference of India to the said resolutions he said, “I believe that Kashmiris should be allowed to decide their own fate and the Indian government should not ignore their rights.”
Javid Husain added that to this end, India and Pakistan should resume their negotiations and make serious efforts in implementing them.
Regarding terrorism, Al-Qaeda, and the extremism he said they are groups who are never in the service of Islam. They are astray, having a wrong understanding and interpretation of Islam.
They have presented a false image of the religion of Islam to the world and attack Islam by their extremist activities. And if the Islamic world plans to have a positive impression in the world, it should foil such extremist activities, he went on to say.
On the issue of discord in the Islamic world, the Pakistani diplomat reiterated that friction and discord weakens Muslims in dealing with challenges confronting them.
Calling for strengthening unity and refraining from discord among the Islamic nations, he stressed that we should not allow insignificant and trivial disagreements turn into great and significant problems. Islamic nations have great resources, but because of not having appropriate use for them, they are backward, he said.
The ambassador said that Islamic countries have not paid enough attention to technology and development. Considering technologies at the disposal of the developed world is evidence that they have made serious efforts to reach this level of development, he added.
Javid Husain went on to say that we should act moderately as Islam advised us.
“We believe that Islam is the religion of peace, moderation, and development. It does not disagree with development and progress; it disagrees with extremism presenting a false image of Islam to the world.
"The Islamic world is faced with several challenges, and preserving unity and solidarity among Islamic nations is the only way to cope with them. But unfortunately, during previous years, certain discords were created among Muslims, which caused several problems for the Islamic world,” he noted.
Referring to the Palestinian issue Javid Husain said that Pakistan has always supported the Palestinian nations' rightful demands such as the establishment of an independent government with holy Qods as its capital.
Complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Palestinian and Arab occupied territories is our demand, Pakistani diplomat said, stressing that Pakistan has now no relation with Israel.
He expressed hope that negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis lead to a fair and all-out peace.
Pakistani ambassador elaborated that we will consult with the Islamic states in case of taking any decision relating to the Zionist regime. Taking such decisions requires national negotiations, and we respect it; there is no change in Pakistan policy regarding Israel.
