TEHRAN July 23 (MNA) –- A cooperative company in the city of Khwansar, central Province of Isfahan, is planning to produce hydroponic roses for both domestic and overseas markets.

Fars News Agency quoting Jahangir Moqaddam, director of Public Relation Office with the Ministry of Cooperative’s head Bureau in Isfahan Province said here Friday that Behkush Agro-Industry Cooperative Company in Khwansar, with a capital of Rls.2700 million ($337,000), is conducting the project.

In Latin, the word hydroponics means literally "water working."

Hydroponics is the practice of growing plants in either a bath or flow of highly oxygenated, nutrient enriched water. With hydroponics, water is enriched with these very same nutrient salts, creating a hydroponic nutrient solution that is perfectly balanced.

Isfahan ranks second after the capital Tehran for its cooperative companies.

Creation of 996 jobs by the cooperatives in the two cities of Khwansar and Golpaigan has attracted Rls.566.645 million in the region while 15,365 domestic educated and non-educated workers are now working in the companies.
