The IRGC in a statement to mark the fourth anniversary of July 15 rallies stressed that those rallies demolished illegitimate demands of “the xenophiles”, adding that rallies had promoted the prudence of the Iranian nation who have always been ready to protect the Islamic Revolution.
“As the Iranian nation can recollect, the incidents in the early years after the 1979 Islamic Revolution were fizzled out thanks to the efforts of Hezbollah ummah,” it wrote.
“And the premeditated developments of Tehran University dorm incident that was perpetrated by rioters and resulted in heavy damage to public property were reined in by a small number of Basijis and police.”
The IRGC regretted that a small group of thugs have created incidents over recent years assisted by foreign powers, and warned that such incidents could undermine society’s path.
It further expressed hope that the Iranian nation and government join hands and dismiss “sellouts” preventing them from poisoning the society with Westernized people’s vices.
