TEHRAN, Mar. 2 (MNA) – Michelle Obama, in a response to her criticism she received over her satellite appearance at the Oscar for the best movie, on Sunday said: “I was expecting something similar.”

MNA: The First Lady has participated in the 85th Academy Award via satellite and presented the Oscar for the best movie to the wining ‘Argo’ film on Sunday.

Her presence at the event in addition to making the Oscar event a politically motivated event, it also raised objection of many media critics and even political insiders.

Michelle Obama in her first response to her critics said: “although some people were critical of my appearance at the Oscar, which means at any point at a given time, somebody’s not going to like what you do. That’s just the nature of things.” She added: “even my shoes could create an internal controversy.”

The First Lady emphasized that, this is because of our role, [President and First Lady] and press will continue to make controversy about anything that we do.

According to critics, the presence of all those men and women in uniform of the Armed forces in the White House was not necessary.

CNN also criticized the First Lady and called her an ‘uninvited guest’, Washington Post, and New York Times also criticized Michelle Obama and called her action ‘inappropriate’.

Oscar Academy Award, in a political move, had invited Michelle Obama, to give the award to the anti-Iranian movie “Argo” to Ben Affleck for the best movie of the year.
