* Sunni Cleric: Iran, a pioneer in Muslim unity
Mowlavi Abdorrahman Mohebbi pointed to blessings of the Islamic Revolution, and added that “today, unity is the only major target by enemies of Islam. They want to break the unity for their own interests.”
“Imam’s [Khomeini] Coming was a divine will to establish a new ring of connection in Iran for world Muslims. Imam [Khomeini] stood against tyranny and blasphemy, by calling for Muslims to unity,” religious lecturer in Makki Mosque religious Madrasa of Zahedan added.
He continued “today, the lost commodity in Islam Ummah is unity, and truly, if we hold fast to the Rope of Allah (Quran), and do not be divided, we will succeed.”
* Zahedan Shiite Friday Prayer Imam: Unity is Quran’s explicit principle
Ayatollah Abbas Ali Suleimani also asserted that “unity of us as Muslims is Quran’s explicit principle and there are many verses on unity. If we do not practice their content, we will be in blasphemy.”
He maintained that Muslims did not have tactical unity, adding that “if we hold fast to the Rope of Allah (Quran), we will be not divided. In division rests God’s reproof, His blessing in unity.”
Zahedan’s Shiite Friday Prayer Imam also said that Imam [Khomeini] has named the week when Prophet Muhammad was born (Rabi' al-awwal, 12th for Sunnis, 17th for Shiites) as ‘Unity Week’.
