TEHRAN, Nov. 28 (MNA) - Until the next Iranian calendar year (which begins on March 20, 2012) cyber attacks will pose serious threats to Iran and that is why the Passive Defense Organization (PDO) has established a joint center with the cooperation of defense, communication and information technology ministries to counter such threats.

"We have established a joint center, called Cyber Defense Center, with the cooperation of the Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Communication and Information Technology," to counter cyber threats, Gholamreza Jalali, director of the Passive Defense Organization (PDO), told a national seminar on basij and passive defense.

Jalali also said currently a cyber command headquarters is operational at the Passive Defense Organization and plans are underway to run headquarters “for biological defense, nuclear defense and chemical defense.”

He also said plans are on agenda to give training about cyber threats, controlling access to computer networks and establishing cyber defense centers in institutions.
