Mohammad Shariatmadari added the two neighboring countries discuss the economic opportunities and development of bilateral ties.
“Following the visits by ranking officials of both sides, Tehran and Ankara put expansion of trade relations top on agenda,” said the minister.
Expressing his satisfaction with the signed industrial and commercial contracts, Shariatmadari said, “Kavir Auto Co. of Iran and the Turkish company CVK are to establish a long vehicle manufacturing factory in Yazd, central Iran.
“In the first year, the Yazd-based factory manufactures 1,000 long vehicles for agricultural and urban purposes.”
According to the commerce minister, the industrialists of Iran and Turkey will sign contracts in the near future and a European company plans to make investment in an industrial township in Tabriz, East Azarbaijan Province.”
Shariatmadari underlined that Iran is keen to boost its non-oil exports to Turkey, reiterating that the bilateral commercial contracts worth 150 million dollars.
He expressed hope that the ‘Week of Iran’ helps the two countries expand their economic cooperation.
During an official ceremony attend by political, cultural, and commercial officials of Iran and Turkey, the ‘Week of Iran’ started Thursday.
