TEHRAN, Dec. 28 (MNA) -- Tehran will host the first edition of the Iran Rare Books and Manuscripts exhibit from February 12 to 16.

The exhibition will showcase rare editions and manuscripts of the Quran and other religious books, poetry, books on art and Iranology as well as rare books which were printed from original manuscripts.

The exhibit aims to encourage Iranian publishers to release rare books, to introduce Iran’s written heritage to the younger generation, to teach methods for printing manuscripts and to publish books that are based on rare manuscripts.

The exhibit will be held by the Iran National Library and Archive, Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Iran’s Academy of Art, Iran’s Majlis Library and Iranian National Commission for UNESCO.
