They also met with the director of the Visual Office of the Iranian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Mahmud Shaluii, and talked about boosting bilateral cultural relations.
“Japan is ready to collaborate in holding joint exhibits with Iran and is willing to arrange an exhibition of Iranian art in Japan,” Kazutoshi said.
Shaluii who is also TMCA curator mentioned that Iran would like to exhibit a selection of works displayed at the Tehran International Cartoon Biennial as well as a collection of typography with the central theme of Asma-ul-Hosna in Japan.
“Iran is also prepared to hold an exhibition of the Persian gardens’ collection currently on show at the 12th Venice Biennale of Architecture,” Shaluii remarked.
Kazutoshi further noted that his country would like to collaborate in holding joint projects and training in the restoration processes of artworks kept in the Tehran museum.
Running until September 23, “A Manifestation of World Contemporary Art” presents about 150 paintings out which 33 are being unveiled for the first time.
Works ranging from the impressionistic to the minimal art eras by renowned artists such as Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock, Marc Chagall, Claude Monet, Henri Matisse and several others are now on show in the exhibit which began in June in different galleries of TMCA.
