“The strength of Hezbollah and Hamas and the reinforcement of the Syrian and Lebanese armies have created new realities in the campaign against the Zionist regime,” Boroujerdi, who is the chairman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said in an interview with the Fars News Agency published on Saturday.
He went on to say that the Zionist regime’s recent attack on Lebanon was carried out to boost the Israeli army’s morale.
“The Zionist regime is in grave doubt as to whether to launch a serious military attack against Lebanon and Syria because any review of the 33-day war (against Lebanon) raises concern for Israel about another similar defeat,” he added.
Israel has found itself in a weak position and does not dare to repeat its threats against the Islamic Republic of Iran, Boroujerdi noted.
The Israeli military attacked Lebanon on August 3, killing three Lebanese soldiers and one Lebanese journalist in what was the most serious violence along the frontier since the 2006 war.
