TEHRAN, Jan. 8 (MNA) — Iranian Ministry of Industries and Mines stated that 70 projects, mostly run by the private sector companies, are operating in Venezuela.

The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) reported that the projects are mainly in the fields of producing cars and tractors, cement and dairy.

 

In addition, Iran is also carrying out mining and excavation projects as well as cultural, technological, scientific, and academic activities in Venezuela.

 

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his Venezuelan counterpart Hugo Chavez signed a memorandum of understanding sectors in Caracas in November 2009 including 270 agreements on cooperation in agriculture, industry, technology, energy, fishery, and housing.
