TEHRAN Dec. 14 (Mehr News Agency) –- The first International Oil Film Festival is to open tomorrow with the participation of several foreign countries in Khuzestan Province.

Films from Italy, Germany, France, Japan, Korea, Venezuela, Kuwait, Canada, Malaysia, England, U.S., Angola, Libya, the Netherlands, Colombia, and Indonesia will go on screen in the International Section of the festival.

 

A total of 83 films including eight feature and 63 short films will be screened in the National Section while 20 feature and 60 short films will be screened at the International Section.

 

Pouran Derakhshandeh, Mahvash Sheikhol-Eslami, Naghmeh Samini, Kiyumars Pourahmad, Kamal Tabrizi, Abdol-Hossein Barzideh, and Ahmad Najafi are the jury members of the National Section of the festival.

 

Cinematic figures from India, Tunisia, Lebanon, Kuwait, the Philippines, South Korea, Japan, and Morocco as well as well as Iranian actor Ezzatollah Entezami and actress Niki Karimi will judge the International Section.

 

A delegation of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources also arrived in Iran on Saturday to participate in the first Oil Film Festival as well.

 

Deputy Head of the Ministry, Abdullah Mohammad Sharif, along with experts Mubarak Majed al-Mansouri and Sediq Amin Dahbour are taking part in the festival.

 

The festival is due to open tomorrow (Monday) in Ahwaz, Abadan and Khorramshahr and will continue until December 18.
