TEHRAN, Sept. 9 (MNA) – The Iranian people will stand up for their rights and won’t let others infringe their legal rights, Supreme National Security Council Secretary Saeed Jalili said on Wednesday.

“Our nation….in its path to progress and using its legal rights will not wait for other’s permission,” Jalili told the visiting Brazilian Deputy Foreign Minister Roberto Jaguaribe.

He said, “The era that some countries equate themselves with the global community and seek to impose their opinions on the other countries is over.”

It is essential that justice is administered in the international relations in order for nations to retain their rights, he added.

He went on to say that there are great potential for Iran and Brazil to expand their comprehensive ties and called for development of South-South cooperation.

Jaguaribe, for his part, said Iran is a regional power with old civilization. He said Brazil attaches great importance to ties with Iran.

He added that an expansion of relations among developing countries is an important factor in reforming the current global system.

Brazil believes that the current “monopolized” global system must change into a multilateral system, he opined.
