TEHRAN, June 21 (MNA) -- The Institute of Philosophy affiliated with the Russian Academy of Sciences has invited the Iranian scholar Gholamreza Avani to a seminar on philosophy this autumn.

The five-day seminar will open in Moscow on November 16.

 

 

Shojaei appointed to jury of Cyprus cartoon contest

 

TEHRAN -- Iranian artist Masud Shojaei has been appointed to the jury of the 2nd International Olive Cartoon Contest, which will be held in Kyrenia, northern Cyprus in late June.

 

Marilena Nardi from Italy, Natasa Kostovska from Macedonia, Osvaldo Macedo de Sousa from Portugal, Hüseyin Çakmak, Mustafa Tozaki, Arif Albayrak, and Musa Kayra from Cyprus are other members of the jury.

 

The competition is cosponsored by the Cyprus Turkish Cartoonists Association and the Municipality of Kyrenia.

 

 

“Window” wins award at Spanish filmfest

 

TEHRAN -- The Iranian short film “The Window,” about the deep affection of a boy for his mother, won the Francisco García de Paso Award at the 37th Huesca International Film Festival in Spain.

 

 

Director Mehdi Jafari received the award, which is given to the short film that best emphasizes human values.

 

 

Three Iranian films competing at Greek environment festival

 

TEHRAN -- Iranian films “Cyanosis,” “Pink Cloud,” and “Maryam, the Girl from the Lost Paradise” are competing at the Rodos Ecofilms festival, which is currently underway in Greece.

 

The Rodos Ecofilms is an international film and visual arts festival, held annually to highlight film productions and artworks on the environment.
