The closing ceremony of the National Will Manifestation Section of the festival was held on Saturday during which 18 organizations awarded participating films as well as granting a life-time achievement award to Ezzatollah Entezami.
At the beginning of the ceremony, a short video clip was screened featuring sequences of films in which Entezami starred after which he appeared on stage and made a short speech.
He expressed his thanks to the festival’s officials. The 85-year-old actor said that he acted since he was 13 and during these years people were always the main encouragement for his successes.
He also thanked cinema critics and the press who reviewed his works and pointed out the deficiencies in his acting. “Today’s moviegoers’ expectations are different from 10 years ago,” he added.
“I really appreciate such commemorations during the lifetime of artists and I expressed my thanks to the artists’ spouses who bear all the difficulties of our profession,” he concluded.
Afterwards, selected movies were awarded by state and private organizations and then Hassan Fat’hi was honored for his film “The Postman Doesn’t Knock on the Door Three Times” by the Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Organization.
He dedicated his award to the Gazan children who experienced untold calamities during the recent Israeli attacks on their homeland.
In this section, some state-run and private organizations selected several films participating in the gala and presented awards to them during the ceremony.
