TEHRAN, Jan. 11 (MNA) -- The Muslim Journalists Association in a letter to the director of Reporters Without Borders organization on Saturday called for an immediate release of Khezr Shahin, the reporter of the Iranian Al-Alam TV channel who was abducted in the occupied Palestine by Israeli forces and took to an unknown place.

In the recent Gaza events the Zionist regime has acted against the international law and the Geneva and Vienna Conventions which calls for protection of reporters in war zones, the association explained.

The association said Israel has set some limitations for reporters and has even wounded and killed some media men.

The murder of the Algerian state TV cameraman, the injury of Al-Jazeera, Reuters and AFP reporters and the bombardment of Al-Alam and Press TV offices in the Gaza Strip are all considered an obvious violation of the international law.

The Muslim Journalists Association said in its letter that efforts by Iranian media outlets, particularly the Al-Alam TV, have for produced no results on the whereabouts of Khezr Shahin.

It is expected that the Reporters Without Borders organization protest against actions and take immediate action to help release the captive reporter.
