TEHRAN, July 14 (MNA) -- “Jan-i-Gal”, a production directed by Iranian Kurdish filmmaker Jamil Rostami will be screened at the Moondance International Film Festival that will be held from August 29 to September 1 in Boulder, Colorado, USA.

The film is to be shown at Chautauqua Community House in Boulder on Sunday, August 31 at 8:56 PM.

 

The film features an Iraqi man called Jwamer, who goes to get a midwife for his wife who is in labor. By a turn of bad luck, he runs into the middle of a demonstration in the town of Sulaymaniah, is seriously wounded and arrested by mistake as the ringleader.

 

 

“Standing Alone” to go on screen at Seoul festival

 

TEHRAN -- Gholamreza Ramezani’s “Standing Alone” will be shown at the Children of Heaven Section of the 10th Seoul International Youth Film Festival that will be held from July 16 to 22.

 

The film narrates the story of the twelve-year-old Mohammad who has been asked to attend a special ceremony where he will be presented with an award. As his story unfolds, a series of obstacles puts his presence at the ceremony in jeopardy.

 

 

Iran, Afghanistan team up for film production

 

TEHRAN -- Five films will produce jointly by the Filmmaker’s Union of Afghanistan (FUA) and the Iranian Young Cinema Society (IYSC).

 

FUA and IYSC signed a Memorandum of Understanding on producing joint films and holding workshops in the two countries on the sidelines of the 3rd Kabul International Documentary and Short Film Festival that was held from July 5 to 10.

 

The films will be on the theme of common cultural issues of two countries in Persian language.
