TEHRAN Nov. 3 (Mehr News Agency) – Along with the hundredth anniversary of oil industry establishment in Iran, the International Oil Industry Museum is to be inaugurated in the southern city of Masjed Suleiman in 2009, technical director of South Zagros Company announced here Monday.

Since the first oil well in Middle East had been discovered one hundred years ago in Masjed Suleiman, the memorabilia would be held there, Ismail Farhadian added. “The Museum exhibits extraction tools and equipment that were used at that time,” he stated.

The Norwegian Statoil is hosting a similar exhibition in Oslo, he said, adding, “They have collected equipment dating to 40 years ago.”

The project totaled $3.5 billion to repair and rebuild required equipment, Farhadian added.
