TEHRAN, Feb. 4 (MNA) – Iran’s pavilion at Madrid’s 28th International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR) 2008 was highly welcomed by visitors, IRNA reported on Monday.

Having been designed magnificently based on the architecture of Takht-e-Jamshid palace and measuring 200 square meters area, the pavilion was one of the much-visited ones among the total 170 participant countries.

 

The visitors showed their interest in seeing Iranian artifacts especially its hand-made carpets.

 

An Iranian music group consisting of 3 men and 3 women performed traditional music in FITUR to neutralize propaganda against Iran over what they say limitations for women.

 

Madrid's 28th International Tourism Fair (FITUR) was inaugurated on Wednesday by Spain's king and queen, Juan Carlos and Sofia.

 

FITUR gathers 170 countries and over 13,300 enterprises. Carlos said "tourism is a great promoter of understanding between countries" and an "efficient" tool "to eradicate poverty."

 

FITUR'S 28th five-day event concluded on Feb. 3, and becomes a great business center, creating the ideal framework to generate trade relations, increase its contacts, presents all the novelties, among others, since this is Madrid's great annual tourism event.

 

FITUR-2008 has expanded its exposition area to 100,000 square meters and some 200,000 visitors are expected, of which 150,000 are tourism experts.
