"The Kuwaiti interior minister's visit to Iran and the signing of a security pact between Iran and other regional countries has reduced threats from foreign countries and removed the grounds for the presence of foreigners in the region," Sedqian told the Mehr News Agency.
"After the former regime in Iraq was toppled and Iran proved its goodwill to regional countries, the countries in the region also welcomed multilateral cooperation with Iran," he added.
Sedqian went on to say that ever since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, security issues have been a major concern for Iran, adding regional cooperation in security results in mutual understanding.
