On the sidelines of the World Maritime Day, Mohammad Rahmati referred to Iran’s IMO membership, saying Iran has to abide by the IMO standards.
He urged all marine organizations of the country to carry out operations within the framework of IMO protocols.
Since the Persian Gulf is a busy watercourse, strategies have been adopted to reduce pollution for its ecosystem, the official added.
Shifting to the warehouses near the ports, Rahmati said that Iran has 1.5 million tons of stockpiled steel in the southern Bandar Imam Khomeini.
Ports and Shipping Organization (PSO) has provided the harbors with good equipment, he said.
