The stamps on display depict the liberation of Khorramshar, the chemical attack on Halabja and Iranian combatants of the Iran Iraq war (1980-88).
Saba to hold Iran national expo
TEHRAN -- The third Iran national expo will be held at the Saba Cultural and Art Center in late autumn.
Fine art works by Iranian artists will be on sale during the event. Cosponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and Tehran’s Museum of Contemporary Art, the gala has been organized to support Iran’s contemporary artists.
TMCI to display contemporary artworks
TEHRAN -- The Manifestation of Contemporary Art Exhibition will be held at Tehran’s Museum of Contemporary Art (TMCI) from September 24 until November 6.
Video arts, illustrations, paintings and sculptures by Iranian veteran artists including Aidin Aghdashlu, Gholam-Hossein Nami, and Abbas Kiarostami, Ahamd Vakili and Behjat Sadr, together with works by 24 foreign artists will be on display during the event.
The venue is located at Northern Kargar St., adjacent to Laleh Park.
Young Iranian artists awarded at Japanese gala
TEHRAN -- Four Iranian children have been awarded at the 14th Kanagawa Biennial-World Children’s Art Exhibition, Japan 2007.
Parmida Parsaii, Mohammad Ebdali, Mohammad-Javad Javadi and Fatemeh Almaszadeh were awarded the gala’s honorary diploma.
This year the competition received 23,889 entries from 85 countries world-wide. The Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults submitted 39 paintings by Iranian children to the gala.
Iranian band to perform at Tunisian music festival
TEHRAN -- Eshtiaq music band is to participate in the 2nd edition of the “Musiqat” international festival which is being held from September 19 until October 6 in Tunisia.
Eshtiaq is to be Iran’s only representative in this world celebrated gala. The band will be performing musical renderings in the Nava Dastgah of poems by Rumi, Alireza Qorbani, the band’s conductor and vocalist told MNA.
During the festival 12 talented artists from different countries will be giving diverse musical performances including Tunisian traditional, Gypsy, Persian and Celtic.
