The delegation included 40 university teachers, library and publication officials, radio and television personnel, as well as some magazines’ chief editors.
The party toured several sections of the institute including the children’s museum, workshops, libraries, and cinema halls.
The delegation watched the animation “One Is Not Enough” by veteran Iranian animator Abdollah Alimorad.
Head of IIDCYA’s research department Seyyed Hossein Vaziri welcomed the guests and announced that there is a plan for a team of Iranian experts and teachers to travel to the capital Dushanbe in order to establish a cultural center similar to IIDCYA in Tajikistan.
Iran’s Minister of Education and the Minister of Education of the Republic of Tajikistan signed an agreement in Dushanbe last February concerning the establishment of this center.
Article 12 of the agreement commits the institute to cooperate with its Tajik counterpart with regards to establishing a cultural center, holding book fairs, and publishing books in both Persian and Cyrillic languages.
Both states have also agreed on holding cultural weeks and exchanging artists and children’s writers to encourage the growth of educational interchange.
The articles of the agreement also include participating in book fairs and encouraging traditional and local games.
Participant Anwar Abdul Rasulov, the dean of Tajikistan Polytechnic University, stated that educating children and young adults is the one of the main responsibilities of every government, adding, “If children are educated well in an institute like IIDCYA, then academic establishments will have fewer problems in educating them in the future.”
The minister of Education of the Republic of Tajikistan is due to travel to Tehran in the near future.
