TEHRAN October 17 (Mehr News AGENCY) – An official in Iran’s National Petrochemical Company (NPC) said here Friday that his country would complete a five-year 86-billion-dollar investment project in its petrochemical industry by 2005.

“This includes 31 petrochemical projects,” he added saying Iran had fulfilled an 11-billion-dollar investment plan in the same industry within another period from 1997 to 2002.

During the last five years, foreign investors contributed some $7.2 billion to the Iranian projects, he stated.
