“Each country has its own cultural identity, and the characteristics of Iranian women distinguish them from other women,” Dr. Alizadeh told the Mehr News Agency.
Since Iranian culture is based on sentimentalism, Iranian women are more emotionally intense and more warm-hearted compared to women in industrialized counties, he added.
“Another characteristic of Iranian women is their dedication to being the pillar of the family. They usually assume many burdens to protect their families. Iranian women are more inclined to being good housewives than to participating in social activities or earning money,” he maintained.
“Some educated Iranian women whose husbands have good incomes prefer to stay at home to be good housewives rather than getting a job outside the home,” he noted.
“In industrialized countries, couples usually have their first baby about eight years after their marriage, and this causes a decrease in their population growth,” he stated.
Alizadeh pointed out that some Iranian women regard their children as the fulcrum of the family, which sometimes causes friction with their husbands.
“Iranian women regard the age of 25 to 27 as the deadline for marriage, and they may feel stressful or anxious if they remain single by this age. Thus, they may choose a spouse hastily, unaware of the character of their would-be husbands,” he explained.
Some Iranian women rely on their luck and are fatalistic in all aspects of their lives, which can prevent them from making progress, he said in conclusion.
