TEHRAN, Aug. 25 (MNA) – Despite the extreme heat, Arbaeen pilgrims are crossing the Shalamcheh International Border Crossing in southwest Iran to reach the holy city of Karbala in Iraq on Arbaeen day.

Mawkibs (voluntary prepared stations) are serving pilgrims around-the-clock at Shalamcheh International Border Crossing on Arbaeen day.

Arbaeen marks fortieth day after the martyrdom of Third Infallible Imam of Shia Muslims, Imam Hussein (AS), in Karbala.
