TEHRAN, May 21 (MNA) – Referring to his last meeting with Iranian president Ebrahim Raeisi on Sunday, Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev said that all agreements reached with the Iranian side will be implemented.

These agreements are based on the interests of the people of the two countries, the Azeri president said.

"Just before the helicopter crash, we met each other for more than 2 hours. In this bilateral meeting, many important issues were discussed," Aliyev said.

"We discussed specific infrastructure projects. There are a significant number of large projects, all of which benefit the Iranian people and the Republic of Azerbaijan," he added.

Late Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi and his Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev held a bilateral meeting before attending the Qiz-Qalasi Dam in the East Azarbaijan Province on Sunday.

President Raeisi and his accompanying delegation, who were returning from dam inarguation ceremony, were martyred in a helicopter crash in the northwestern province of East Azarbaijan.

Following this tragic incident, Leaders from 50 countries around the world poured condolences to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
