TEHRAN, May 19 (MNA) – At least nine people were killed and several injured as a bus caught on fire in Haryana state of India.

The incident took place around 1:30 am on Saturday, in Nuh, Haryana with the bus carrying approximately 60 passengers.

Of the deceased, six were women, and three were men, India Today reported.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. "The ill-fated bus was returning to Punjab when it suddenly caught fire," stated a police official.

The police said the matter was under investigation.
