TEHRAN, May 15 (MNA) – Police in Turkey arrested 56 ISIL terror suspects on Tuesday, the country’s Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said.

During simultaneous operations in four provinces, the suspects, who had recruited people for the terror group, received assassination and explosive training and provided financial aid to individuals operating within the group, were arrested, Yerlikaya said on X.

In 2013, Turkey became one of the first countries to declare ISIL a terrorist organization, Anadolu Agency reported.

The country has since been attacked by the terror group multiple times, with over 300 people killed and hundreds more injured in at least 10 suicide bombings, seven bomb attacks, and four armed attacks.
