TEHRAN, May 11 (MNA) – Two earthquakes measured 4.6 and 2.8 magnitude on Richter scale shook Ahel in Fars on Saturday.

According to Tehran University Seismological Center, the 4.6 magnitude on the scale of Richter first struck Ahel District in Fars province at 1:56 PM Tehran local time on Saturday  and the second quake which seemed to be an aftershock shook the same district at 2:06 PM. 

The earthquakes happened at the depths of 22 and 10 kilometers from the earth surface.

A local official in Ashkenan District, the epicenter of the quake cited the local Red Crescent reports as saying that two people were injured in the earthquake when they rushed out of their homes. He reported damages to more than 300 houses in the area.
