TEHRAN, May 11 (MNA) – Iranian rower Saeed Hosseinpour has cruised into the final at the 2024 ICF Paracanoe World Championships underway in Szeged, Hungary.

Hosseinpour participated in the men's KL1 class during the first qualifying round of the Paracanoe World Championships held in Szeged, Hungary.

In this round, he competed against opponents from Italy, Japan, Portugal, Spain, India, Cyprus, and two rivals from the host nation.

He crossed the finish line after the Brazilian opponent with a time of 49.94 seconds, securing the second position and advancing to the A-final of the tournament.

Hosseinpour will contend for the gold medal on Saturday.

The team's head coach, Ahmadreza Talebian, is leading the roster consisting of Masood Gheisari (Men's KL3), Saeed Hosseinpour (Men's KL1), and Eslam Jahedi (Men's VL2). Additionally, Shahla Behrouzirad (Women's KL3) is competing for Paralympic qualification.

The 2024 ICF Paracanoe World Championships are taking place in Szeged, Hungary from May 9-12.
