D.C. police reported that they were called to the scene of a crash at approximately 10:45 p.m. at the junction of Pennsylvania Avenue and 15th Street in Northwest, D.C. They found a man when they got there, and they declared him dead.
According to authorities, a car struck a security barrier surrounding the White House. The incident is currently being looked into as a traffic collision. It comes after, according to the US Secret Service, a man was taken into custody in January after his car struck a barrier outside the White House compound. The incident happened just before local time ended at 6:00 p.m., The Mirror reported.
According to Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi, the "vehicle collided with an exterior gate" on X, formerly Twitter.
There were no reported injuries from the incident. According to Mr. Guglielmi, one person was brought into prison, and the crash is still being looked into.
