TEHRAN, May 05 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, in a meeting with his Bangladeshi counterpart Mohammed Hasan Mahmud, described supporting Palestine and confronting the Zionist regime’s crimes as global demand.

During a meeting held on the sidelines of the 15th Heads of State and Government Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Banjul, Gambia's capital, on Saturday, Amir-Abdollahian and Mahmud discussed and exchanged views about expanding ties between Tehran and Dhaka.

They also talked about issues of mutual interest, including topics on the agenda of the OIC summit.

While thanking the position of the government and people of Bangladesh in support of the Palestinian people, the top Iranian diplomat urged the importance of interaction and cooperation between big Islamic countries in supporting the Palestinian issue and confronting the crimes of the Zionist regime as a common demand of Muslim nations and all people of the world.

Meanwhile, Mahmud hailed the Islamic Republic of Iran for its principled and decisive position in support of the Palestinian people.

He urged Islamic countries to take urgent and decisive action to halt Israeli crimes in Gaza.
