Speaking at his cabinet session on Sunday afternoon, Ebrahim Raeisi described the brutal crackdown on anti-Zionist students protests and the beating and arrest of professors and students in Western universities, especially in the United States as revealing the true face of the US and Western governments' claim on advocating freedom of speech and human rights and said that, "Today, thanks to the clean blood of the oppressed martyrs of Gaza, the true face of Western civilization has been revealed more than ever in front of the people of the world, and it has become clear that those who make claims on advocating freedom of speech are not committed to any morality but attempts to preserve their hegemony over others."
He thanked the national TV for covering the students' protests in the US and West, highlighting that "Undoubtedly, these protests and awakening against oppression, crimes and domination (hegemony) will not be silenced by violence, beatings and arrests of professors and students who support the oppressed people of Gaza."
On Sunday afternoon, Iranian university students held mass rallies to express their solidarity with pro-Palestine academic demonstrations across the United States and Europe demanding an end to Israel’s months-long genocidal war on Gaza.
