The top Iranian diplomat made the remarks in a meeting with the United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Tor Wennesland in New York on Friday night.
Referring to Iran's retaliatory attack on Israel, Amir-Abdollahian said that the response was legitimate and based on international law.
Although Iran was able to carry out this operation in a wider scope, it only targeted that part of the Zionist regime's military positions from where they attacked Iran's consulate in Damascus on April 1, he stressed.
"The Zionist regime, with the support of the United States and its allies, is massacring and genociding defenseless Palestinian children and women in Gaza," Amir-Abdollahian further cited, adding that with the end of the Israeli crimes in Palestine, the region would be stabilized and secured.
Wennesland, for his part, said that the situation is out of control and the situation of the Palestinian people is regretting.
Calling for an immediate end to the Gaza war, the UN coordinator said that the United Nations seeks to de-escalate the tension in the region and will use all its efforts to help establish peace and security.
