The Israeli regime attacked Iran's consulate in the Syrian capital of Damascus on April 1. The Israeli aggression led to the destruction of the entire building and the martyrdom and injury of the entire people inside it.
Seven of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) military advisors were martyred following the Israeli attack on Iran's consulate in Damascus on Monday, IRGC said in a statement.
Reacting to the Israeli aggression, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kan'ani on Monday night said that the Islamic Republic of Iran, while reserving its rights to take countermeasures, decides on the type of reaction and punishment of the aggressor.

FM: Iran notified regional neighbors 72 hrs ahead of operation
Addressing group of ambassadors and heads of foreign missions residing in Tehran, the Iranian top diplomat also said, "In our message to White House this morning we explained that this was a limited response."
Saying that Iran has not targeted any civilians in its response to Israeli aggression, Amir-Abdollahian said, "We targeted airbase for F-35 jets and intel centers used in strike on our consulate in Damascus."
"If UN had condemned Israeli strike, we would have thought twice about our response," Amir-Abdollahian noted.
"We do not seek to target American people and bases in the region and we do not welcome the extension of tensions," he said, adding, "We will target US bases if they are used to aid Zionist aggression."
"We thank the countries of the region for receiving our message. We are always committed to the safety of our brothers in the region. We consider the security of our neighbors as the security of Iran," the Iranian top diplomat said.
"About 72 hours before the operation, we informed the neighbors and countries in the region that Iran's response is definite and certain in the form of legitimate defense," he added.
Any new adventure against Iran interests to be met with a heavier, regrettable response: Raeisi
Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi issued a message about the successful operation of the IRGC air forces against the Zionist regime's positions in occupied lands on early Sunday.

Referring to IRGC's successful operation against operation against Israel regime, the Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces warned that Iran's response to any aggression will be much heavier.
With the use of well-thought-out tactics and proper design, neither the Iron Dome nor the missile defense of the Zionist regime could significantly counter this operation, General Bagheri said, adding that the operation achieved its goals.
Anti-Israel operation more successful than expected: IRGC chief
The chief commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says that the anti-Israel operation carried out early on Sunday was more successful than expected.
