Rouhollah Latifi, the spokesman of the Iranian House of Industry, Mine and Trade's Trade Development Commission at the Iranian Ministry of Industry, stated on Sunday that Iran traded over 4.9 million tons of non-oil goods worth $2.7 billion with Pakistan, representing a 14.7% increase in weight and a 10% increase in value year-over-year (YOY).
Of this amount, Iran exported 4,379,000 tons of goods valued at $2,078,224,261 to Pakistan, showing a 23 percent increase in weight and a 39 percent increase in value compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
Latifi mentioned that the import value from Pakistan stood at 554,250 tons of goods valued at $673,932,130, indicating a 26 and 33 percent YOY decrease in weight and value respectively.
He emphasized that increasing the Iran-Pakistan trade level to five billion dollars is one of the two countries' favorite programs, and they have taken effective steps in this regard.
