The chief executive of the organization noted that an expert-level meeting was held with the Iraqi side with a focus on the development of transportation of passengers by sea, according to which, the two sides emphasized the launch of the first passenger maritime line between the two countries, Mehr news agency reported.
Given the readiness of Iran’s Abadan and Khorramshahr ports for the transportation of passengers to the destination of Wasliya and Basra ports in Iraq, the officials of the two sides have expressed their readiness for the initiation of the transportation of passengers via sea, Ali Akbar Safaei emphasized.
With the coordination made in this regard, he said, it was agreed that the two sides would launch the first sea line for the transportation of passengers between the two countries within the next two months.
