TEHRAN, Mar. 16 (MNA) – Iranian taekwondo athlete Arian Salimi secured a berth in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

On the second and last day of Taekwondo Olympic Qualification in Asia that was held in Tai’an,  China. Iran’s Arian Salimi at the weight of +80 secured his place in the Paris Olympics Games after reaching the final match .

Salimi beat Wadhah Al Ahmed from Qatar 13-0 in the first round and 5-0 in the second round to face Ray Rahi from Lebanon in the next stage.

The Iranian player defeated his Lebanese opponent in 2 consecutive rounds to reach the final and earning a berth at 2024 pairs Olympics Games.

Salimi became the fourth Iranian taekwondoka to gain a place in the Paris Olympics. Yesterday, Mobina Nematzadeh in the women's division -49 category secured her place in the  Olympics Games.

Nahid Kiani in the -57kg category and Mehran Barkhordari in the -80kg had previously earned two quotas for the Games.
