TEHRAN, Mar. 09 (MNA) – In a meeting in Tehran Sat., Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan asked for enhanced relations in political, economic, trade, scientific and cultural fields.

In the Saturday meeting in Tehran, the Iranian minister stressed the importance of continuing joint efforts to strengthen cooperation between Iran and Armenia in various areas such as politics, economy, trade, science, and culture.

Amir-Abdollahian said that developing all-out relations between the two countries would help promote “sustainable” peace and security in the region without foreign interference.

Kostanyan, for his part, conveyed the greetings of Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan to his Iranian counterpart and emphasized that Armenia attaches special importance to the development and expansion of relations with Iran and considers it effective and useful for the stability and security of the region.

He presented a report about his earlier talks with his Iranian counterpart deputy foreign minister Ali Bagheri Kani, which took place within the framework of the new round of political consultations between the deputy ministers of foreign affairs of the two countries. He assessed the results as useful and fruitful, declaring that the two sides agreed to continue and strengthen these consultations at different levels.

In the meeting with Bagheri Kani, the Armenian senior diplomat welcomed the presence of Iranian companies in Armenia's infrastructure projects and appreciated Iran's positions on maintaining territorial integrity, sovereignty and unalterability of internationally recognized borders.
