TEHRAN, Mar. 09 (MNA) – Iran’s Greco-Roman team won the title of the wrestling tournament 2024 Vehbi Emre.

The Iranian wrestlers won four gold medals, five silvers, and three bronzes.

Pouya Dadmarz beat Georgia’s Giorgi Tokhadze 5-2 in the final bout of 55 kg.

Mohammad Hadi Saravi defeated his compatriot Mehdi Bali 5-1 in the final of 97 kg.

Saeed Esmaeili collected a gold medal, beating Mahmud Bakhshilloev from Uzbekistan 1-0 in the 67 kg final.

In the 77 kg final, Amin Kavianinejhad defeated his countryman Ali Oskoo 5-3 and Iran’s Amir Abdi defeated Uzbekistan’s Dilshod Omongeldiyev 3-2 to win the bronze medal.

Amin Mirzazadeh also won a silver medal in the 130 kg after pulling out against Finland’s Elias Kuosmanen due to a knee injury. Fardin Hedayati seized the bronze in the class.

Rasoul Garmsiri lost to Stanislav Shantarenko from Belarus 5-3 and Abbas Mehdizadeh won the bronze medal in the weight category.

Amir Reza Deh Bozorgi lost to Kyrgyzstan’s Zholaman Sharshenbekov 5-0 in the final bout of 60 kg.
